Adios 2007

So...today is the last day of 2007. How nice of me to finally post after like..oh, a million years. I'm stuck at work and bored, so I thought I would give a quick run down of the highlights of 2007.

-Aruba-always a good time

-Martha's Vineyard-bike-riding, drinking, christine and her signature pose, and rocky...what more could a girl want out of a weekend. oh! and there was the psycho guy who ended up getting sent to the mental hospital after he tried to push one of the guys on our trip off his balcony. good times.

-JT....I'm so mad that my old phone died, for if it hadn't gave up on life and lost all its memory, I would have some lovely photos and videos to add to this post....oh..now i'm sad. luckily, HBO likes to show his concert from time to time. **

-Melissa's Bachelorette Party-it was one million degrees out..but that made going to the beach, and playing in the waves unbelievable. i don't think i've had that much fun in the water since i was like 12. pretending to be fountains, wine tasting, dinner, and of course ZOOM (and kelly dancing to like a virgin) made this weekend one for the books.

-Melissa's Wedding-please refer to my earlier post about the 10 best things about your sister getting married.

-Champagne Thursdays-another fabulous year filled with hanging out with the girls and heightening our taste in champagne (we think the expensive stuff sucks-also..colored champagne rocks)

-Buying my condo-completely stressful and crazy, but so glad i have a place to call my own!!

Um..yah..that's all i can think of for big stuff. Oh, we won the world series..obviously exciting. Pats are currently undefeated. Kelly and I will try to post more next year. oh! that will be our resoultion ;)

One other thing. I was watching the B's last night and noticed that Phil Kessell kinda looks like Spencer Pratt:

**my birthday is Januayr 29th if anyone would like to purhcase for me the JT tour DVD.

Posh Spice's concert wardrobe

I know that i have been all about the celebrity comparison's lately and I apologize. My life has not been adventurous nor exciting enough to fulfill the adventures of Kelly part of this blog. So to keep you(and by you i mean the two people who check this on occasion)updated i am giving you my celebrity comparisons and maybe even next week i will throw in some fun pictures of Nanny boozing it up in Florida.

So my comparison for the week.

Posh spice vs. Dot Matrix (Spaceballs)

You can't tell me that they don't look similar!? Maybe it is just the gold and gold tights but whenever i look at Posh I am reminded of Spaceballs.

Too funny not to post.

Saw this ad on Gawker and was too scared to actually click on it. If someone does click on it or google it if you could tell me what it is for that would be great.

Happy Summer!

Although I typically like summer and love the fact that it is no longer zero below and you can put your car windows down, I always forget about one simple thing.

car windows down = pedestrians can hear you when you yell at them for crossing when they shouldn't or when you have a green light.

luckily i haven't been yelled back at...yet. but it is definitely going to happen. Every morning with out fail people like to stand in front of my car(or the car in front of mine) and wait for the light on the other side to turn red so they may be able to walk. the only problem is that my light turns green just as the other turns red so i have to sit and wait(or hit the pedestrians) until they move and there is always someone who tries to run to beat it causing me to miss the light and wait another 10 minutes to go.

Wow. guess i needed to get that out.

Classic Nanny quotes

"we all have to have something."
-After watching Music and lyrics and me reminding Nanny that Hugh Grant was once arrested for being with a prostitute. (she loves Hugh grant)

"Shit, piss and corruption"
- Heard from Nanny when there was a bad play on the Red Sox game tonight.

Phil the turkey.

So it has been FOREVER since anyone has posted on here and even longer since i have posted anything at all. That's because my life has been anything but adventurous due to my never ending working. When i am not working I am working. I am starting to forget what friends look like.

Anyway, i just wanted to update you all on Medford's pet turkey Phil. I last wrote about how he scared the bejesus out of me last winter and has pretty much taken up residence in Medford. Well apparently he has gone MIA. he hasn't been seen in weeks. The mayor thinks he has gone out to go get some loving. Glad to see that even the city pet can get some loving and i can't get so much of a date or a call back from a guy(but that was probably too much information.)
You can read all about Phil here http://www.townonline.com/medford/homepage/x423192014 and see some pictures of his house visits across the city.

WWJD? or what would jasper do

Jasper is my cat

My cute cuddly sometimes super annoying becuase he's so vocal cat.

I, like many other pet owners have often contemplated what my cat's daily activities are, as I am not home. I am not home becaue my super cute cuddly annoying cat refuses to get a job and help with the rent. But I'm not bitter. So as I said, I have quietly pondered my cat's daily schedule, wondering if it would be worth it (aka entertaining) to set up a video camera so that I could catch him in action. I don't know if anyone else in my building has pets, but if they do, I'm sure Jassy invites them up and they all get hopped up on catnip and party like the felines they are.

Well today I "worked" from home, actually a few weeks I did a lot of "working" from home. And I can confirm, and share with you all, exactly what my cat does all day.

He sleeps.

Seriously..that's it

I didn't stay at my place lats night, so when I arrived home he was all bright-eyed and bushy tailed, excited that I was home, wanting to cuddle and play. I humored him and picked him up and pat him for a whole 2 minutes. Then he wanted food, then he wanted to sit on my lap and watch my type. And that was it. I think he was active for a whole hour. He has been past out-in various locations throughout my apartment, since about 10:30 this morning.

When he wakes up, I'm going to tell him he needs to get his act together or he's going to have to go live with my parents..ahahhahahha
*please note that my cat is not as cute and small as in this picture, which was taken about 4 years ago..he's about 10 pounds bigger now

Best thing i heard..okay read today

from a co-worker:
Nowadays 80% of women are against marriage. Why? Because women realize it's not worth buying an entire pig just to get a little sausage!

Happy Heart Day everyone...

The one thing I like about Valentine's Day (or My mom's birthday because it is better to call it Linda's birthday than Valentines Day)

Beacause I am a bitter single gal. Is the conversation hearts.

Also because I choose to be bitter and single today I found this article of the origin of the heart symbol entertaining.

http://www.slate.com/id/2159800/nav/tap1/?GT1=9129

Happy Linda's Birthday everyone!

Just my luck(not the lindsay lohan movie)

So i know that I pretty much have the worst luck ever but it was pretty much decided today. I knew that Justin Timberlake was staying in Boston and would come in to work at some point in the past few days so I had everyone on high alert to call me if he was here. So about half an hour ago i find out that he did come in about an hour before that. There was no call from ANYONE!!!! No one felt the need to call me or say hey i need to talk to you about something can you come up here, or say guess who is here... I mean it isn't like i was asking for their first born child nor was I going to go up to him and start chatting. I would have just like to have seen him. Especially when would I EVER get to be that close to him?

saddest day EVER!

Signs you work to much

I know this is a lame post but deal with it, at this point in time it's all I got. Besides tomorrow Nanny and I will be watching the Super Bowl together which always makes for some entertaining Nanny stories.

1. You try to open your house door with your work keys and forget what your house key looks like.
2. You dial 9 first while trying to call someone from your house phone.
3. You answer your home phone... "Good morning/afternoon/evening this Kelly." or "thank- you for calling...place of business... this is Kelly. How may i help you?
4. You try to sign in to your computer with your work password and can't figure out why it isn't working.
5. You don't have time to do laundry or can't remember what outfit you wore when because they are all blending together
6. You can't remember what day it is.
7. You figure out what day it is by what is happening at work or what staff is working.
8.

I should have stopped at 5 because I can't think of anymore. I seriously need to stop working so much. Does anyone know how I can win the lottery/ marry Justin Timberlake/rob a bank with out getting caught/ become independently wealthy without working this much? Fell free to let me know. Please and thank-you!

Scared of 29

So..in exactly one week I'm going to turn the big two-nine. My last year in my 20's..the end of the world...weeping..weeping..

I'm sure it won't be that bad..but I'm scared. Not scared that I'm leaving my 20's behind and jumping into a whole new decade..i mean..of course i can't wait to be 30, flirty and fun..but scared because its an odd number. weird i know..but it seems that every year that is an odd number does not go so well for me...
for example:

13...girl stuff..
15..parents got divorced
17 & 19 I'm still working on..i'm sure i'll come up with something..i think when i was 19 i got in my first car accident..
21..things got bad with the roomies and i moved home
23..again..still working on it
25..got laid off at work, broke up with bf
27..my nana past away, bf moved out on me

So as you can see..I'm less than thrilled with the idea that in one week..I will be another odd number.

i can hear you now: but amy..that's silly..i'm sure bad stuff happened in the even years too right? wrong!
I mean..lets just take a quick look see here:

16-had my first drink (obviously a huge & great milestone) and i think i got my license this year too (can't recall that far back!)
18-graduated high school..summer full of hanging out with friends and partying..okay..so i did get mono but that just meant i didn't have to nanny for a few days and got to sleep a lot
20-had a single room in college..got together w/bf..grand old time in general
22-graduated college..other fun stuff happened
24-thinking..thinking..thinking...
26-got back together with bf..got apt. together..
28-aruba, tennessee & orlando.got back together with bf again (its like a roller coaster ride, i realize this) parent's got remarried.

So I guess only time will tell how this year will go..maybe because its my Champagne Birthday..yes..that's right..I said Champagne Birthday is this year..things will turn out a bit brighter.

One's golden birthday, also called a champagne birthday, is the day when the age someone turns is the same as the day in the month he was born. (e.g. someone turning 20 on January 20th celebrates his golden birthday).

For more info on Golden or Champagne b-days:

apparently there is a book about it..and if anyone would like to get that for me that would be great..

And don't be a hater if you had your golden b-day when you were like 2 so you think this is stupid..its not..you're just jealous...so there!

Because I'm stuck at work!

I realized this weekend that although I haven't listened to all of Fergie's new CD..I'm imagining that the rest of it must be just as wonderful as what we've already heard. I mean..she's sooo smart..and she really cares about teaching others. I think it dates back to when she was in Kids Inorporated...I mean.. I had no idea how to spell Kids until those fun loving singing/dancing tween spelled it out for me in their opening song...oooh looks like we made it we're kids incorporated....K....I....D....S....yah!

and now look at Fergie...she's all grown up, but hasn't forgotten her roots...thus far she's taught me how to spell glamorous, tastey*, delicious, and fergie. And that's just the beginning..she also teaches us history..I mean..hello..London Bridge? AND she also likes to teach us fun new meanings for words...for example...rock rock=hard on (okay..i don't know this for sure, but based on the hand gestures she was using when she performed on whatever awards show that was..i'm pretty sure that's what it means) So thank you Fergie...you were always my favorite on KIDS.

Moving on to more important things..I saw alphadog this weekend.. what a GREAT movie. Not only was Justin Timberlake's shirt off for 90% of it... he really is a great actor and I totally thought he just had a tiny part...but no..he was one of the main characters. Ben Foster was UNBELIEVABLE...as the scary creepy..forked up guy...really the whole cast was great. and the story is amazing...and sad. i knew that it was based on a true story, but i didn't do my homework before i went..so i was a bit upset with it.. but Kelly and i talked the whole way home about it..and even if you're not a JT fan..you'll really enjoy this movie..so if you have today off and are sitting around staring out your window at the rain..go see alpha dog..and get me some popcorn!

The girl in the green tank top...AKA luckiest girl EVER..got to play his girlfriend....so jealous

*in doing spell check i notices that you do not spell tastey: t to the a to the stey girl you tastey..there is no e in tastey!

Wishes for 2007

I'm not big on resolutions...okay..I love the idea of having them, but I rarely follow them through. Like last year, one of my resolutions was to stop hanging out with a certain male companion..and now we're dating..or wahtever you call it..so you can see..I'm not really good at sticking to my guns.
So I'm not going to make a list of resolutions for this year, but rather a list of wishes...things that I hope I can accomplish in 2007. So here goes:
1.) Win Lottery
2.) If lottery does not come through have BF win lottery
3.) If that too fails, find great job that pays lots of money and is close to home
4.) Ideally buy a home..but if not, at least get a new apartment
5.) Become a supermodel and ridicsoulsy famous celebrity..marry justin timberlake

Okay..so #1 is a little out of my reach..but I think I'm in good shape for the rest : )

Things I'm looking forward to in 2007
a.) Aruba
b.) my sisters wedding
c.) thanksgiving (i had to think of something...2 happy reasons for 2007 is unacceptable)
oh wait! thought of another one..
d.) being tinkerbell for halloween FINALLY!

Things I'm not looking forward to in 2007
1.) being 29 (yikes!)
2.) all the people around me getting engaged, married, or having kids...wtf..are we really all grown up now?
3.) finding out my raise at current job (cuz if it ain't high enough..it won't be pretty round here)
4.) not going to Tennessee :(

2007..my NYE

First..how creepy is this:
My friend just sent this to me in an email entitled "interesting angle" um..yah..i would say so!

Okay..so NYE 2007..
So for NYE me & BF went over to our friends house up in Dracut for their annual party. I was at the first one and it was packed and crazy, and I guess the 2nd one was equally as packed and crazy. Well, the third one, while crazy, was definately not packed. There were 7 couples and then 8 "single" people there. My goal for the night was to get drunk...not only because it was NYE but because I decided to take January off from drinking (update on this..I CANT SLEEP). Anywho..I started pounding them back, because really..i like to reach the goals I set for myself as soon as possible. I played beer pong (I suck!) then ate some food, hung around with some of the girls and mingled...then after midnight it turned into Dance Party USA..Well..not foreverone but for most of us girls it did. Now..the house we were at just go the basement done over..it used to be all carpet, but now when you walk downstairs, there's like 3-4 feet of tile (aka dance floor) and did i mention that there is a pole? not like stripper pole, but a i'm holding the ceiling up pole, but it can be used to twirl around non the less.
so i danced the night away with the girls then left at 2am because i was done. i thought i had a pretty good handle on the evening but i guess not, because i definately do not remember a.) grinding on the floor b.) dancing on the pole* 3.) people hooking up c.) the ride home***

*i've been told there are pictures of said dancing..if i ever get them perhaps i'll share

**luckily the person that i went with doesn't drink so don't worry..we arrived alive!

Chronicles of Nanny

Ahh... nanny...

I was putting the Christmas tree away last night and the bag it was contained in resembled a body bag except it was green and not as shiny as the one's they use on Law and Order. So Nanny and I were joking around about it as i dragged it outside and propped/shoved it into the shed in a scene that reminded me of the part in Goonies where the guy falls out of the fridge onto Chunk. I am strange I know.

About an hour later Nanny and I are watching television and having a conversation about everything but the Christmas tree bag... and she says.

"If we ever needed a body bag we could use that."

Wild Turkey (not the whiskey)

Let me tell you a little story:

One dark wintery Sunday morning(okay so it was last SUnday and it was your typical winter morning when you dont' want to get up and go anywhere but if you are me you have to since your employees all abandoned you and you have to work.... but let's just back tot he story shall we...)

One dark, wintery and COLD Sunday morning our groggy blogger woke up and got ready for work and started her car. As she drove down her quiet still sleeping street she sees this...

Okay so maybe not this but that is what it reminded me of causing me to do a double take and slam on my breaks. It was really just a turkey but seriously this turkey was HUGE!

When I remembered to tell Nanny about it she said he apparently has taken up residence in the area and has been on top of houses(do turkey's fly) and stopping traffic.

I swear he just stared at me as I drove by.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy 2007!
Hope everyone had a fun & safe NYE.
Once Kelly & I have pieced our nights together..I'm sure we'll share :)
